CLASSROOM NEWS: Last week we read books about unusual birds and revisited what students learned about animal adaptations and habitats earlier in the year. On Thursday's Out & About we finished performing shadow puppet plays and spent time in the Backyard Garden building mini homes for wildlife. First graders have been using and comparing strategies for subtracting a single digit from a teen number. First graders can complete any pages in their math workbooks up to Module 2, Lesson 26. Second graders continued to practice adding or taking away 1 or 10 from a two-digit number. They practiced strategies for adding and subtracting multiples of 10. Second graders can complete up to Module 4, Lesson 5.
